Default Strategy

Well from what I've played and what I've read there are two basic strategies.

#1. You can be aggressive playing a lot of hands trying to get all in early so you can double or triple up. THis gives you enough chips to bully your way through and also keeps you from having any trouble with blinds eating away your chips. Big problem here tho is that its easy to get knocked out early

#2. You can also play super tight and only play ton ten hands. THis keeps you in the game a long time but sometimes if you cant seem to get the monster hands you are looking for then you will be very close to the money but you will barely be able to afford the blinds and your competition will have a lot mroe chips than you so you have start being aggressive anyway.

The second way will usually get you further consistently but the first way when it actually works will give you a better chance of hitting the money. Also the second way can cause you to waste a lot of time playing just to barely miss the money

Personally I prefer to start out tight until the initial wave of people going all in first few hands is over and then I start to loosen up and play more hands until the blinds get to about the tenth level and then i tighten up again trying to hold on and ride it out to the cash. No joke though one tournament I only played 7 hands and finished fifth out of 1500. Well I hope this helped some and good luck

Freeroll poker tournaments are one of the most popular tools among online poker room operators to draw new players and keep existing players satisfied. Therefore, the internet is full with online freeroll tournaments with prizes going up to thousands of dollars and more. The no-risk element of freerolls attracts thousands of players and more than a few fish. A professional poker player should always remember that his goal is to be as profitable as possible in any given moment. Playing massive freerolls usually takes a considerable amount of time which considerably reduces your hourly profits. Most likely you will make more money playing regular ring games.

Default Pokerstars Freerolls

Pokerstars does a number of tourneys they call freerolls which are really just satellites to a weekly game. NL Holdem freerolls are strange. You got upwards of t0k players sometime and most of them for the first hour are just thowing chips at each other. If I'm tryign to get tickets for the actual cash freerolls, I play limit games instead of no limit games. There is still somemule kicking in early stages, but I have much better chances of getting the tickets to the actual paid holdem tourny.
